Freckles

NEWS FLASH: In case you hadn't noticed, Weims get freckles when it rains. This is the little-studied phenomenon of raindrops falling on a Weim and their furs becoming darker where the drops hit. Sometimes these drops can last quite a while, depending on the dirtiness of the dog. We had Webbie out in the rain to do his peas and he got the freckles from the rain, so we thought we should capture it for posterity. (He didn't do his peas until much later ... he doesn't like the rain at all...)

Webbie's Third Studio Sitting

Webster's growing like a weed. 18 weeks today, and 35+ pounds. Webster sneaks up to the studio all the time (it's his favorite place) and so we figured it was time to shoot some new shots.

Webster Bliss

Apparently, sitting (or laying down) for a shoot is OH SO BORING

Webster's Been Busy Entertaining

Last Sunday, July 12, Linda and Walter (Grayhart Weimaraners, Webster's breeders) came by for a visit. Webster was thrilled to see Linda and Walter and especially his big sister Jam (Grayhart's Purple Haze) and proceeded to play tirelessly with her all evening. Linda got some practice stacks of Webbie before the sun went down and as the evening progressed the siblings had a terrific playtime. The next day Webster was so tired he had to be paid in treats to get out of his beddy to participate in his morning constitutional.

This past weekend, Webster got to meet his Uncle Jimmy from Chelsea (NYC) when he came out and stayed with us for the weekend. Webster loved him at first sight and proceeded to give him the ubiquitous ear- and face-wash. Before we took Jimmy to the Ramsey train station, we snapped this shot of these two best buds :)

Webster Meets His Grandparents

Marc's Mom & Dad, Betty & Frank (a.k.a. Ma & Pa), came to Mahwah for a visit over the July 4th weekend. Webbie had never seen his grandparents and was very excited and happy to see them ... until he realized they were just as strict and consistent with discipline as his parents are. Jeez ... a dog never gets a break :) Actually a "good time was had by all" and Webster was a very good boy. We had a chance to do a studio shoot of them and Webster, being the professional model we all know he is, thought it prudent to give his grandparents some pointers on posing...

See ... heads up and eyes toward the camera ... er, heads up is sufficient.

Put your hands this way and turn a little to your left...

When posing women, fingers should always be closed...

Looks like Webster's getting a few pointers too...

Our "experienced professional" has succumbed to playtime...

Dogs can make studio shoots very enjoyable experiences :)

Being Webster

Webster has discovered the official doggie couch and has claimed it as his. (Wait until his sister Jammie comes and he'll find out she laid claim to it first...)

Goofy dog...

Handsome dog...

Webster loves his new fox toy. The squeakers lasted 8 seconds and the good thing is there's no stuffing (as we concentrate on making sure the head is suitably crushed)...

The ears and feets seem to be growing exponentially with the dog ...

Great grey hunter...

The ears fly as the little animal's neck gets broken ... again.

It's not sufficiently dead yet...

Ah, success!

Nice lips...

Some boys are growing fast ... he's 31 lbs now - a little over twice the size he was when we brought him home.
